N2  -  Summary. Background. Breast cancer patients undergoing hormonal therapy often experience side effects such as fatigue, reduced physical fitness, and diminished quality of life. Exercise-based interventions are increasingly recognized as beneficial in oncological rehabilitation; however, adherence remains a challenge. In this context, the LatinDance PHA protocol was developed as an innovative approach combining aerobic exercise, circuit-based resistance training following the Peripheral Heart Action (PHA) model, and the motivational aspects of dance, with the aim of improving physical and psychosocial outcomes in this population. Methods. For this study, 33 women aged between 45 and 65 years with breast cancer undergoing hormone therapy were recruited and underwent functional assessment at T0. Among them, 18 participants achieved an adherence rate greater than 50% to the LatinDance PHA protocol and were reassessed at T1. The LatinDance PHA protocol, lasting 8 months (2 sessions/week), involved individualized training based on each participant’s clinical and functional conditions. The sessions combined an aerobic component (LatinDance) with strength exercises, alternating between upper and lower body, typical of PHA circuits. The protocol was designed to be progressive, adaptable in terms of intensity and complexity, and monitored for safety, adherence, and tolerability. The measured outcomes included physical performance parameters, fatigue levels, and psychosocial dimensions, including well-being and quality of life. Results. Participants reported significant improvements in lower limbs strength and trunk flexibility (p<0.05). A reduction in perceived fatigue and enhancements in psychological well-being and overall quality of life were also observed. The intervention showed good adherence rates and no adverse events, indicating good tolerability and acceptability. The engaging and social nature of dance appeared to positively influence participation. Conclusions. The findings suggest that the effectiveness of the LatinDance PHA protocol is likely driven by the synergistic integration of aerobic, resistance and motivational components. Its feasibility is supported by safety, adaptability, and good adherence. However, limitations such as sample size and lack of control group should be acknowledged. Further research with larger cohorts and long-term follow-up is needed to confirm these results and establish sustained benefits.
