Medicina dello Sport is the official journal of the Federazione Medico Sportiva Italiana (Italian Federation of Sports Medicine), the official journal of the European Federation of Sports Medicine Associations, and an editorial partner of the International Federation of Sports Medicine. The journal is indexed in BIOSIS Previews, EMBASE, Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), and Scopus. Impact Factor: 0.6 (2023). It is published quarterly (pISSN 0025-7826 - eISSN 1827-1863).

The journal, directed by Professors Attilio Parisi and Giorgio Santilli, publishes original articles, clinical cases, short communications, editorials, clinical and therapeutic perspectives, reviews, guidelines, and protocols in the main areas of interest of Sports Medicine and related disciplines.

In particular, the journal aims to provide an overview of the most relevant and current topics in Sports and Exercise Medicine by publishing both national and international studies and research. Its goal is to promote safe and proper sports practice and, more broadly, to safeguard the health not only of athletes but also of the general population, emphasizing the importance of physical activity as a physiological, cost-effective, and efficient tool for primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention and therapy of major non-communicable chronic diseases.
